About Highnam Court Cricket Club

pavilion-from-trees.jpg

Highnam Court Cricket Club, in its current guise, was founded with the kind assistance of the late Mr Tom Fenton in 1976. However, cricket has been played at our delightful ground adjoining Holy Innocents Church since at least the 1850s.

We believe that we are the smallest club in Gloucestershire able to regularly field two teams who are not only keen cricketers, but a wonderfully diverse bunch in terms of age, gender, ability and background. We have a core of talented 20-somethings as well as up and coming teenagers and 2 septuagenarians who still play regularly for the 2nd XI. With this diversity, our teams regularly cover an age range of over 50 years, despite only playing in adult cricket leagues, and this family atmosphere is also demonstrated by the number of father-son participants over the years.

Best of all, there has been a wonderful camaraderie both on and off the field, with everybody enjoying the sun, the cricket and each others’ company, aiming to strike the perfect balance between relaxed and competitive cricket.
